Channel V, a music TV channel on Foxtel in Australia, hired me to develop the platform for the 2012 Oz Artist of the Year contest, where viewers vote for their favorite artists in a 8-week long knockout tournament. Every week, a portion of the artists are eliminated from the drawing, and at the end of the tournament, the top artist would be named artist of the year.
I built the platform on a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack using a proprietary web framework. In addition to the main business logic, a dashboard module was built to provide analytics and contest control - such as disabling voting. The platform, deployed on desktop and mobile, has processed more than 1,500,000 votes from over 22,000 users.
